Elak Electronics started its activity in the centre of Brussels more than 40 years ago, in 1975. Our founder, a real entrepreneur, started importing and distributing electronics straight out of Japan. The early days knew a booming start which quickly elevated the company to become the benchmark for CB-products (Citizen Band) in the Benelux countries. As the years went by, the company added other strong electronics categories, such as IC’s (Integrated Circuits) and Faxes and Printers. When these categories became mainstream, the company underwent a drastic change. It was the first electronics store to introduce the concept of cash & carry. This was unseen before in the retail electronics sector. This change transition allowed the business to cut retail related costs and consequently offer the lowest prices to customers. As the shop grew, so did the product offering. It increased from about 100 different products in 1978 to more than 20,000 today. This continuous expansion of our product range is the result of being at the cutting edge of new technologies, such as 3D-printing.
Within the company we accumulate more than 100 Years of Experience, which we offer in 7 different languages: Dutch, French, English, Spanish, German, Romanian and Hungarian. As a result, we can help more than 100,000 customers annually with the repair of their electronic devices, the sale and installation of Video surveillance or Audio Equipment installation, the configuration of a personalized gaming PC, and who knows what else we will be able to offer in the future! |
